What is AgAurium?
AgAurium is a free online organiser for recording your collection of coins, bars, banknotes and stamps. You store details and photos per item and see in one overview what you have and what it is worth.
Is AgAurium really free?
Yes. There is no subscription, no paid version and there are no ads. AgAurium runs on voluntary donations.
How is the value of my precious metal calculated?
For gold, silver, platinum and palladium, AgAurium uses the fine weight (weight times fineness) and the current price, which is refreshed regularly. For other metals, banknotes, stamps and special pieces you enter a value yourself.
Who can see my collection?
Only you. Your items, purchase prices, serial numbers and notes are shielded per account. To prevent abuse, the administrator can review uploaded photos, without seeing whose they are.
What is the shared catalogue?
Of each item, only the general product details, such as name, weight and dimensions, go into a catalogue that helps all users fill in their items. It never says who they came from; purchase details, serial numbers and photos are not shared.
Can I import an existing list?
Yes. You can import a CSV file, for example from Excel, and export your inventory again at any time. With the bulk import you can also add many photos at once.
Does AgAurium work on my phone?
Yes. AgAurium is a website that works on phone, tablet and computer. You do not need to install anything.
Can AgAurium recognise text on a banknote?
For banknotes, AgAurium can read the text in a photo and use it to fill in fields such as name, serial number and year. This happens in your own browser and can contain mistakes, so always check the result.
Is there a limit on the number of items?
You can keep up to 2000 items and 4000 photos per account. That is more than enough for almost any collection.
How do I delete my account?
In Settings you can permanently delete your account with all items and photos. Export a CSV file first if you want to keep your data.
Where does the name AgAurium come from?
AgAurium combines Ag and Au, the chemical symbols for silver and gold.
How can I support AgAurium?
With a voluntary donation via PayPal. Use the button below, or the button on the About AgAurium page when you are signed in. Questions, tips and complaints are welcome through the feedback form in Settings.
Can I create multiple collections?
Yes. You can create up to 50 collections, for example one for coins and one for stamps. An item can be in several collections at once, so you can keep everything in one main collection and share only a sub-collection.
Can I also keep track of jewellery, gemstones, cast bars or collectible objects?
Yes. Besides coins, rounds, bars, banknotes and stamps there are the types cast bar, CombiBar, jewellery and collectible object. For jewellery you record the kind, number, carat weight, cut, colour and clarity of each stone or pearl. For gold you can enter the carat; the fineness is then calculated.
